Backstory?

I did not intend to go into marketing. In 2023, while grieving a personal loss, I decided to show up for a friend who was running a free web development bootcamp. I volunteered as an instructor, teaching accessibility to a group of learners, and somewhere along the way I casually offered to handle the social media page too. I did not even know what a social media manager was at the time. I just figured I would give it a shot. The results were exceptional and the rest, as they say, is history.

Since that accidental start, I have spent every day learning. I got certified as a social media and digital marketing expert by Meta, worked on projects that have stretched and challenged me in the best ways, and built a perspective on marketing that is grounded in real experience rather than just theory.

My biggest motivation is straightforward. I want to build a life free from anxiety for myself and the people I love. Coming from the global south, I have watched too many opportunities slip through my fingers based on geography and circumstance. So I work with that in mind every single day. A quote I heard at DevFest from Aniedi has stayed with me ever since: "be so good they can't ignore you." That is my goal.

When I am not working, I am usually with the people that motivate me most, my friends and family. I love travelling with them and discovering new places. It recharges me in a way nothing else does and is honestly the best treatment for burnout I know of. I also have a thing for amateur photography, some of my favourite shots alongside some pictures from trips are right below.

Volunteering is also still a big part of who I am. It is where this whole journey started and I have never walked away from it. I am still actively involved in tech communities and other causes worth showing up for.

As for ambitions, I am a simple man with some big ones. I would love to one day work with the consumer tech brands I genuinely admire, companies like Framework, Nothing, and Google's Pixel team who are building products with real character. Working with any of them would be something else entirely. There are also brands whose marketing voices I find myself studying closely from the outside, Dbrand, Duolingo, and Morning Brew. Learning from them on the inside would be something special.

Enough about me, I would love to hear from you! I am always looking for the next interesting thing, the next project that challenges me and helps me grow. If you have something like that, or you just want to talk, I would love to connect. Click here to send me an email
