Martinez Lawn Care & Landscaping
Rebuilt the Facebook presence of an Arkansas based lawn care business from scratch after a hack, helping them reconnect with their existing customers.
The Overview
Martinez Lawn Care and Landscaping is a local business based in Arkansas, US, offering lawn care and landscaping services to their community. When their Facebook page was hacked and lost entirely, they needed someone to help them start over and make it feel like nothing had changed. A mutual contact referred them to me and I got to work.
What I Did
The brief was straightforward but the work was anything but. They wanted the new page to sound and feel exactly like what they would have posted themselves, which meant I had to get it right for them specifically.
I started with research. I studied what other lawn care and landscaping businesses in the Arkansas area were posting, how they spoke to their audience, what kind of content performed well, and what the local diction sounded like. Getting the voice right for a local American small business from Lagos required paying close attention to the details, the phrases, the seasonality, the tone that felt familiar to their customers rather than foreign.
I went through all the photos and videos they sent me, figured out what each one was showing, and used that to write posts that were grounded in the actual work they had done. Seventeen posts in total, each one scheduled and planned to rebuild their presence consistently.
Beyond content, I also helped them win back some of their old customers by encouraging people to refollow the new page, which meant the account did not just look good, it actually started reconnecting with the audience they had lost.
The Results
In under a month the page had gained around 150 followers, accumulated approximately 98 reactions across posts, and the client was satisfied enough to take the reins and keep posting confidently on their own. For a local business that had lost everything on their main customer facing social channel, that was a meaningful recovery.
What I Took Away
This project reinforced something I have come to believe strongly about marketing. Context is everything. You cannot write for an audience you have not taken the time to understand. The research I did before writing a single word was what made the content land the way it did.
